The T-Cradle Hold Position is helpful after a C-Section birth.
This position protects the incision site from baby's movements.

The Lying Down Hold can also be used after a C-Section birth.

The Cradle Hold Position is recommended after the incision is healed.
The T-Cradle Hold position is recommended for moms who had a c-section birth. This position is like the Cradle Hold position with a slight variation.
In this position the baby's bottom is held up as high as his head, so that his body does not touch the incision site.
Baby's body makes a 'T' with mother's body.
A pillow, towel or blanket can cover the incision site for protection from baby's movements.
After the c-section incision is healed enough that you are comfortable holding baby in your lap, we recommend using the Cradle Hold position for breastfeeding.

The Lying Down Position is also helpful after a c-section birth.
A towel or blanket can be placed over the incision site and then bring baby in close.

Some babies take right to the Lying Down Position, others take a while to learn it. We suggest trying the Lying Down position every few days until baby is comfortable nursing lying down. It gets easier as baby gets stronger.
Help from Dad in bringing baby to Mom and helping to place baby into position is much needed and appreciated at this time!
Note: Many mothers are taught to use the Football Hold position after a c-section birth. We do not because we see mothers having many problems from the Football Hold.
